The sound of laughter is the best to wipe away any kind of sorrow
This feeling of blissful happiness is something you taught me, you know.
From when I was young, I watched you live from afar from where I was
I wanted to please you, be the ideal I thought you wanted of me
You told me the secret of the older girl that you liked
She was beautiful, and so endearing, everything I wanted to be
Knowing I couldn’t catch up with her, so I pressed my luck and leapt back in time when we first met
So that you’d fall in love with me instead
With fresh tears running down your youthful cheeks, you cried and looked all over for me
After my past self vanished from you without warning previously
I had to hurry up and go back home
But this power only let me go one way
So I stayed here alone
I wanted to talk to you and say that I came from a far away place
But I kept quiet, and as usual saying nothing was all I could do
You see the future me, your eyes filled with curiosity
“I’m looking for someone that looks like you.”
Out of breath you tell me so desperately.
My heart broke down as I continued onward, searching for that fateful day
Stitching back pieces that were never meant to separate or decay
But wait! I’m right here! I never left.
So I beg of you, stay here with me I plead
Next Spring arrived and you decided to start your life anew
You said to me at last, “If only you were really her”, took your final step and moved on
That fresh feeling of being in love with someone like you
I remembered every bit of it
So I stopped you, and told myself it’s now or never
I fell apart as my meek voice quietly told you everything
But before I could see your disbelief, my world restarted again
And so when I woke up, my world was ashen
A familiar barren view stood right in front of me
I looked to my hand and saw your picture staring right back at me
How I missed your smile, how you colored my world so endlessly
I didn’t realize how much I meant to you, and so I began my quest to start to anew
I’ll find my way to you
In a world without you, I wondered if I would ever smile again
So I left your picture with a clean slate until I can meet you again
