ACADEMIC: "Life in a Pandemic"

My digital arts project. It's a sequel to my first pandemic inspired piece, "On Pause".

This one is a bit more pessimistic. Whereas the other one represented hope and having control, this one represents the unknown and losing control.

There's a play button here instead of a pause button because at that time, I didn't know when I'd be able to return to Japan and resume my goals. I had begun to get restless again because of that lack of knowing and not knowing what steps to take.

In the hands are some of the best memories I have from my time in Japan when I studied abroad, but they're slipping out of my control. What was once mine is no longer mine, and I wish I knew how and when I can get it all back. In the background is Fushimi Inari, my very first shrine and arguably the best day of my life.
